#29: Weight Loss and Mental Health
Depression, grief, and unstable mental states can often lead to unintended weight loss. Unfortunately, society tends to applaud such weight loss, overlooking the underlying suffering. This societal response is problematic as it perpetuates that losing weight during difficult times is a positive outcome.

Being congratulated for extreme weight loss can inadvertently encourage individuals to develop eating disorders. It’s crucial to cease normalizing extreme weight-loss practices, as they not only reinforce the notion that suffering is necessary for attaining the “perfect body” but also actively discourage healthy eating habits. This narrative must be shifted to promote overall well-being and body positivity.
