Seal: Voice and Resilience

Renowned singer Seal has chosen to shed light on his encounter with a specific type of Lupus known as discoid lupus erythematosus, often abbreviated as DLE.

In a conversation with Yahoo!, Seal disclosed, “My bout with Lupus began when I was 21. Thankfully, it’s not as severe as systemic Lupus, which affects internal organs.” Although Seal’s DLE is in remission, he has spoken about his previous self-consciousness regarding facial scars resulting from the condition. He reflected, “Then I swiftly realized that physical form doesn’t define our essence. I consider myself fortunate in that regard.”
