15. Replace shelves with small built-in cabinets
Many kitchens have something called a sideboard, which is a small strip of cabinets to cover any gaps between the counter and appliances or walls. Usually, this is just wasted space. However, some people have had the initiative to create an actual cabinet out of that flimsy space. This section has just enough room for bottles, spices, and other small items.
Several companies like Wayfair sell these sideboard cabinets, and they all seem to be between $150 and $200. The only drawback is that unless you fully renovate your kitchen, you’re unlikely to find a cabinet that suits what you already have. A positive perspective is that painting the small cabinet a different color turns it into a drawer. This makes for a much more streamlined kitchen organization project, rather than making a complete makeover.
