4. Use Magnetic Containers to Organize Your Kitchen
Having your kitchen tools on the wall in front of you at all times is one of the simplest ways to ensure that you never forget them. Magnetic wall strips cost $10 or less and can be found online, at Ikea, and in most department stores. It’s effortless to stick your metal tools to the wall after you’ve mounted the magnetic strip. This frees up a lot of space in your drawers as well. If you live in a city apartment with a small kitchen, this could be one of your only choices for storing all of your cooking equipment.
Magnetic strips are helpful for a lot more than just tools. Some people prefer to use the strips to cover the underside of a counter or a rack. After you’ve magnetized the bottom of the frame, you can apply magnets to the tops of the jars and attach them to the strip. This automatically creates an additional room that was previously unavailable. If you do this, make sure the items you place on the shelf don’t weigh too much because if they do, the rack will pull away from the wall. Magnetized spice jars are also available, which many people prefer to hang on the refrigerator door.
