2. Hanna House
The Hanna-Honeycomb House was the first Wright home to be constructed in the San Francisco Bay Area. You should be able to find it on the Stanford University campus. Notably, the building was his first non-rectangular structure. With a hexagonal design, it’s obvious that Wright took the inspiration from a bee’s honeycomb. Furthermore, with hexagonally tiled terraces and built-in furnishings, the house was only for those making up to six-sided figures.
While the construction began in 1937, but its design ran over the next 25 years. The layout is incredibly unique as there are no right angles. Wright designed this house for two well-known educators associated with Stanford University, Paul and Jean Hanna. It has also been named a National Historic Landmark.
