9. Frank Lloyd Wright’s Home and Studio
This house was designed by Wright in 1889 and has been the home of his family for many years. He and his wife Catherine raised six of their children in this Oak Park, Illinois home. Wright’s house was remodeled in 1895 and 1898, where he expanded after with an additional kitchen, day room, and playroom.
The variety of sculptures located around the exterior is also one of the most notable features of this property. On the other hand, we could also find artwork created by Richard Bock, a friend of Frank Lloyd Wright in the resident. Home and Studio fell into disrepair in the 1960s, but it has undergone a 13-year renovation starting in 1974.
