An Event Unfolds
At an intersection, an unexpected and unsettling incident occurred. A passerby hurled a soda bottle through Travis’s open car window. Displaying dissatisfaction, Travis unbuckled himself, opened his car door, and swiftly ran into the road using his knuckles. Clad in his oversized adult diaper, a garment he wore for outings, he surveyed his surroundings. He playfully leaped onto cars, eventually settling to roll on his back in the middle of the road. Curiosity piqued, and a crowd gathered to witness the spectacle.
For a remarkable two hours, Travis evaded both vehicles and the pursuing police officers, who had been called to address the situation of a “loose chimpanzee downtown.” Onlookers found amusement in his audacious behavior, even as he playfully smacked some officers on their backsides, eluding their attempts to capture him.
