Sue Relocates to a New Destination
When Travis was around five years old, Sue, Sandy’s daughter, married her second husband and had two more children. Eventually, they relocated to the Outer Banks, where Sue’s husband had employment. This news deeply upset Sandy; she felt her only daughter was leaving her. Furthermore, Sandy disapproved of Sue’s new husband. Despite the distance, Sandy maintained communication by calling Sue, sending money, and sending gifts. She cherished Sue’s notes, keeping them preserved in plastic bags.
While moving her belongings to the new location, Sue made multiple trips to Connecticut. Tragically, in September 2000, Sue was involved in a car accident while driving back home after taking Percocet for back pain earlier that day. Although her baby remained unharmed in the car seat, Sue was ejected during the crash and tragically lost her life. Sandy was abruptly awakened by a devastating phone call informing her of this horrific news.
