Chalk Body Covering – Africa

Makeup can essentially be considered a form of body painting, although, in most cultures, it is primarily limited to application on the face. However, the Caro tribe in Ethiopia defies this convention with their unique body painting practices.

In this tribe, white chalk is utilized to create intricate spider motifs all over the body. This distinct form of body painting is regarded as a symbol of beauty for both men and women within the community.
