Playing the National Anthem Twice a Day
While in some countries, people may only hear their national anthem during special events or sports occasions, Thai people are accustomed to hearing it daily. In Thailand, the national anthem is played twice a day, precisely at eight o’clock in the morning and six o’clock in the evening.
You need not worry about missing it while you’re out, as every television and radio station in the country broadcasts the anthem at those designated times. It is also commonly played over speaker systems in government buildings, bus stations, parks, and other public places. This practice reflects the strong sense of patriotism among the Thai people.
