Young People Normally Live at Home
In Thai culture, it is customary for young people to live with their parents or other family members until they get married. As a result, Thai parents do not typically experience an empty nest, as their children tend to remain at home even as they reach adulthood.
Although young people may occasionally move away for educational pursuits or job opportunities, the strong sense of family importance often leads them to return to their home villages or towns after completing their education. Family bonds are highly valued in Thailand, and staying close to one’s parents and relatives is a common practice. Additionally, when a Thai couple gets married, it is usual for the groom to move in with the bride and her parents, further emphasizing the significance of family ties in Thai society.
