2. Ancient Grave Markers
The Department of Veteran Affairs will provide a free government-issued headstone or marker in any cemetery around the world for any eligible veteran’s unmarked grave, regardless of their date of death. The distinction is intended to honor those who made the sacrifice for that country.
A garbage collector told Reader’s Digest that he had found grave marker medallions in a few recycling bins once in World War I and World War II. Hoping they would be returned to their rightful owners, he reported them to the police.
