From Explosives to Stardom
During World War II, Marilyn worked in an explosives factory, and surprisingly, photographs from this period paved the way for her career in Hollywood. David Conover, an army photographer, was assigned to capture images of women contributing to the war effort.
As he moved along the assembly line, he encountered a young woman handling propellers. Enchanted by Marilyn’s understated charm, Conover promptly recommended her for a career in Tinseltown.
