15. No Running Water

You will not be able to use running water on Vans. There are some vans with hand pumps installed, which help to wash hands and wash dishes in small sinks. Or, people fill a big water pitcher with a hose, so they have something basically like a tub. However, there is no hot water in a truck. The water bottles that are being kept in the car will usually freeze overnight, or will be cold on a cold morning.

Most of the time, you won’t have the option to take a hot shower, unless you buy one of the outdoor solar bag showers. All campsites also have showers, but they are shared with the community. That means you can’t take a shower anytime you want. Plus, you don’t have much privacy time. The laundry must be done at a friend’s laundromat or home, so many people have to wear one piece of clothing a day.
