54. Smart decisions
I had a friend who won $250k on a $5 slot machine at the Shreveport casino during her drinking party two weeks before the ceremony. With her newfound fortune, she decided to ask her fiancé to sign a contract first. He refused. He called it “our money” from the first moment he heard the good news.
And so she left. Everyone hates her for that. She has practically been excommunicated from all of our social circles. Ten years later and her ex-husband filed for bankruptcy twice. In hindsight, she made the right decision.
