2. Built During the Filming of Purple Rain
In 1983, Purple Rain, featuring Prince’s song with the same name, began filming. In the same year, the construction of Paisley Park also started. Interestingly, it acted as a studio and home hybrid for the singer, Furthermore, not only did it share a name with a Prince song, it was also the name of his recording label.
Furthermore, its designer was an unknown young architect. With a unique combo between a luxurious artist space and personal home, the place was packed with many facilities such as recording studios, sound stage, or rehearsal area. To put it in short, Paisley Park perfectly fit Prince’s inexhaustible work ethic.
